Shelly Froehlich

MA, LPC, CMHC, ACS — Founder, Clinical Director, Supervisor, & Psychotherapist

I am profoundly grateful for time spent in the wilderness, processing years of my life and relationships on dirt trails. So many of those miles are responsible for my love and passion for people and my career as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and wilderness guide.

  • Alongside the time spent in nature, a significant aspect of my life and strength as a psychotherapist is my emotional and spiritual growth, what I have learned from working with people for nearly two decades, and being in a long-term committed, loving marriage. I am fascinated by the influences of family systems, society, wilderness, how people experience the world, and how personalities, perceptions, and experiences create another layer of who we each are. I believe that as human beings, we are instinctively drawn toward healing and growth, and while incorporating nature in various forms, we expedite the process. Think about your time on a trail with a close friend; it was probably similar to a mini-therapy session!

It is an honor to hold a career as a psychotherapist, generating more healing and creating more love. I enjoy teaching people how to better understand themselves, move toward healthy behaviors, create loving relationships, and reclaim wholeness, connection, and a meaningful life. I work from a holistic perspective, blending body-centered psychotherapy, mindfulness, and nature-based elements to help individuals and couples thrive.

Sessions involve collaborating on an integrative treatment approach, combining insight, skills-based techniques, and creating objectives to meet goals and help clients understand how their past experiences and relationships shape who they are now. My work is to help people remove the obstacles that stand in the way of healing and one's capacity to be the best and truest version of one's self. Whether an individual comes to therapy with a vague sense that something is not right or an overwhelming sense of pain (or somewhere in between), together we will create a safe space, to put words around your experience, and create possibilities for change.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Shelly is also trained in wilderness therapy, somatic therapy, and EMDR. She also uses IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and polyvagal approaches. Shelly is an Approved Clinical Supervisor for LPCCs.

Gratitude and empathy are the heart of my life and my professional practice as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and wilderness guide. In a posture of gratitude, all things are possible, and it is from this place where we thrive.

I am dedicated to meaningful connections, both with self and with others, and I am inspired by the power we each possess to heal and grow.

  • Our capacity for introspection is uniquely human and offers us the opportunity to evolve emotionally and behaviorally beyond our past in tremendous ways; a process of becoming that I believe is courageous and ultimately fulfilling.

It is with this belief and intention in mind, that I openly and compassionately invite people into the therapeutic process. I believe that successful healing and growth require a collaborative relationship between practitioner and client. In this collaboration, I offer non-judgment, and I honor all parts of you, your story, and your goals in therapy. As a practitioner, I am passionate about helping people more deeply understand themselves, create connected relationships, develop healthy behaviors, and function from a place of wholeness that makes way for a thriving life. I believe healing and growing through psychotherapy is a pathway to empowerment. In therapy, we can understand the influences of the past and of society on the self, and learn how to become our best selves in light of them.

My professional lens is deeply rooted in modern neuroscience, specifically trauma-informed attachment and somatic therapy. From this perspective, I utilize an integrated approach to achieve healing which includes psychoeducation, nature-based/wilderness therapy, mindfulness, body-based, gestalt, and psychodynamic interventions. I partner with individuals and couples who want to work with/on their relationships, family dynamics, communication skills, trauma (past or present), grief, anxiety, and/or depression. I am deeply committed to the therapeutic process, offering a safe and compassionate environment for people to engage directly in meaningful work that creates change and possibility.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Megan is a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist (CCTP). Megan is also trained in EMDR, somatic therapy, trauma, couples Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), and nature-based therapy. She uses IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and polyvagal approaches. Megan also supervises LPCCs in Colorado.

Dee has been supervising both MFTC and LPCC psychotherapists and Practicum and Internship students at Regis University since 2015. In addition to being an Approved Clinical Supervisor, she has extensively studied neuroscience and the interpersonal neurobiology of psychotherapy, which allows therapists to understand more about the workings of the brain and how that applies to therapy sessions.

*Dee is a supervisor, not a practitioner at Evolve In Nature, so she does not see clients.

Water is an incredible resource and teacher in my life. It has taught lessons of change and adaptation, learning how to work with obstacles with flexibility. I have watched how particles settle when water is still and clear, and when it is turbulent it becomes murky. I have learned how to relax and surrender and let it hold me. And I have been humbled by its force. Most importantly I have learned acceptance, like the quote from Jon Kabat-Zinn I can’t make the waves stop but I can learn how to ride them.

  • It was a life-altering event in a car accident that started my own healing journey. It is from this journey that I have drawn significant wisdom, strength, and inspiration to work with others on their own healing journeys, however that may look for each individual. I believe that the way is through, that you are inherently wise, and the answers you are looking for are right there waiting for you to find them. It is my honor to support and guide you in this process. We are social beings and we are not meant to do it alone.

Gentle guidance, curiosity, non-judgment, and play, are all values I bring to my practice as a therapist and as a human being. I am interested in how our nervous systems interface with whatever our struggles are, and how once we are able to nurture and regulate our nervous systems we are better able to manage our conditions and whatever life throws our way. Using a combination of body-centered therapy, emotional literacy tools, mindfulness, and attachment-focused therapy. I support adolescents, adults and couples with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, communication skills, internal conflicts, chronic pain, chronic illness, life altering events, Medical trauma, grief, and life stress.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Lenni is trained in somatic therapy and EMDR. She also uses IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and polyvagal approaches.

Lyz Hart

As a person who was born and raised in Colorado, the mountains have always been a place of healing and homecoming. The wild, rough and rugged terrain ever-shifting with the cycle of the seasons serves as a continual reminder that we must also learn how to shed and grow with the cycles of life. In the hustle and bustle of our busy, modern lives we can often lose touch with the natural rhythms of the earth, of our bodies, and of our soul.

  • When I find myself caught up in the whirlwind of life’s stressors and anxieties, I remember we can always return and reattune to the rhythms and wisdom of the natural world with an act as simple as noticing a breath, feeling the breeze on our skin, or watching the sky transform with the vibrant colors of the sunset.

In my practice as a psychotherapist, it is my goal to help create a space in which people can feel safe and comfortable in their process of transformation and healing. I acknowledge that each person’s journey in life and in therapy is uniquely their own. I offer a creative and collaborative approach to setting intentions and goals with you in order to provide a supportive and generative alliance tailored to your needs. Always operating from a space of non-judgment, curiosity, and compassion it is my hope to facilitate and witness the growth, expansion, and evolution of mind, body, and spirit that accompany the process of psychotherapy.

My approach to counseling is informed by a variety of modalities including Jungian, depth, narrative, somatic and existential perspectives. Utilizing mindfulness-based practices and trauma-informed care, I am passionate about bringing the sensuous and imaginal world alive in our session. It is my honor to work with individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, personal relationships, life transitions, career issues, life stress as well as those who are looking to deepen their sense of personal power and growth all with the hopes of living a more soulful and embodied life.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Lyz is trained in EMDR and uses somatic, depth, IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches.

In my life, the outdoors have always been a welcoming place of contemplation and tranquility. Nature has served me as both the teacher and the container. The lessons I have learned through time spent outdoors have been some of the most important in my life. Even when sessions are indoors I look to replicate the stillness, comfort, and spaciousness that nature provides. Nature directs us to experience sensation, notice natural rhythms, and hold larger perspectives, showing us the path to healing. In returning to nature, we can learn how to return to ourselves and our bodies.

  • As a therapist, it is a privilege to be allowed into the intimate spaces in people's lives and to bring forth healing, growth, and empowerment. I am passionate about helping clients learn the skills to connect with their true selves, deal with life's difficulties, and live a life of alignment and fulfillment. As your therapist, I will walk beside you on your exploratory journey of introspection and healing. By creating a safe space together, therapy will be a place where you can freely explore your experience, express yourself authentically, and come to a place of acceptance and peace.

The core of my practice is founded upon the humanistic tenets of being non-judgemental, empathetic, and authentic. My style as a therapist incorporates trauma-informed and attachment-focused mindfulness and somatic therapy. I also utilize wilderness therapy, gestalt, and existentialism. Through a holistic treatment approach, personalized goals, and skills-based techniques, your treatment experience will be tailored directly to your needs. I believe that clients possess all the wisdom they need, and it is my job to work collaboratively to bring that wisdom forward. Wisdom shines through when we make space to experience and process our emotions. I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, addiction, and relationship issues.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Brian is trained in wilderness therapy and EMDR. He also uses somatic, IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, and psychodynamic approaches.

Mac Wilson

MA, LPCC — Psychotherapist

she, her, hers, or they, them, theirs

Radical acceptance and meaningful connection are the backbones of my life and practice. I firmly believe each of us owns unique parts of ourselves that not only make us different but also make us capable. Sometimes a tree must twist and bend to reach the light it needs; just because its growth looks different doesn’t mean it’s not still growing. As a psychotherapist, my humor and curiosity are what help me reach the light I need.

  • I value the ability to laugh with my clients as well as let them lead. The latter means I will honor all parts of you, your experiences, and your goals. By first creating a space in which you feel safe, we will then move towards feeling safe in your body and your story. Our walk together will be collaborative and empowering, filled with introspection and expansion.

My therapeutic lens integrates modalities like mindfulness, somatic therapy, gestalt therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Broadly, I am interested in how we can accept our senses and feelings and turn them into movement and/or action. To also be dutiful towards social justice and trauma-informed care, I also use multicultural and feminist frameworks. I am honored to partner with individuals and couples living with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and LGBTQIA+ and/or identity issues.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Mac uses somatic, IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, nature-based, and psychodynamic approaches.

Jamie Lococo

MA, MFT-C — Psychotherapist

I am so glad you are here. It is incredibly brave to take this step toward connecting with others in a way that will inevitably ask a lot of you. Therapy requires you to be raw and vulnerable. I believe in creating a space that allows for the comfortable and uncomfortable parts of processing, leading to personal and mutual growth.

  • Maybe we’ll work in the expansive outdoors or an inviting indoor space. Imagine a space that is warm, open-minded, and open-hearted and can support all that you bring. I create a space that honors social, cultural, economic, and spiritual differences and similarities.

In my work with couples, relationships, and individuals, I lean on an attachment and emotion-focused theory to guide our work together. This includes looking at how other relationships have impacted the way you show up in your life here and now. This helps us discover where you are getting stuck and where trauma may be stored. Once we identify the “stuck” patterns, we can collaborate to make meaning of it and to move through it, creating new, more fulfilling patterns and overall connectedness.

All of this work requires compassionate openness, vulnerability, and collaboration from everyone in the space. I am honored to collaborate and work alongside clients and witness the beautiful–sometimes messy–journey of change, growth, and reaching one’s self-identified goals.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Jamie is trained in Couples Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She also uses somatic, IFS/parts, gestalt, mindfulness, nature-based, and psychodynamic approaches.

MA, LPCC — Psychotherapist

Sometimes life can feel fast-paced, oppressive, and overwhelming.  Nature reminds us that we have access to our own internal resilience, peace, and wisdom. My passion lies in helping individuals navigate the terrain on their unique path to personal growth, self-discovery, and healing. Stress, anxiety, and fear are just some of the feelings that can make us feel stuck, disconnected, or lost. However, the empowering truth is that they don’t have to define us. Together, let’s embark on a transformative journey where we explore these emotions as powerful catalysts for change.

  • As a therapist, I offer a holistic approach that includes mindfulness, psychoeducation, Gestalt, CBT, mind-body awareness, and expressive arts (somatic, nature-based, psychodrama, art, and music). In our sessions we will slow down to examine any obstacles that may be hindering your path. The focus will be on your individual needs and goals.  We will collaborate to create a safe and nurturing space where you can freely express yourself, develop effective tools to overcome challenges, explore your identity, and discover new perspectives to live a more embodied and authentic life.

A spark of hope can be found in the scent of a flower, the warmth of the sun, or the movement of the trees. Taking the first step towards hope is courageous and when you are ready, I am here to support you in nurturing this spark to uncover a world of light inside.

In addition to a wide variety of trauma-informed clinical counseling skills, Sara uses somatic, gestalt, mindfulness, nature-based, and psychodynamic approaches.

Almost 10 years ago, I moved to Colorado from Southern California, and I have never looked back! When I am not in the office, you can find me working out, walking the Westminster Open Space with my husband and dog, camping, or spending time with family. With a background in psychology and behavioral health, along with clinical management, I love witnessing people becoming their true selves. My life’s journey through healing and acceptance and my passion for the outdoors led me to Evolve in Nature, where I am excited to support and guide a team of amazing humans.
